If you're a kid of the 90's, you shared the joy of playing with the iconic coloured blocks, Lego. Building all sorts of imaginary landscapes and scenes, to fulfil your wildest fantasies. Sadly finding that sense of joy and freedom is a little limited when your an adult. Those twinkling moments of happiness are few and far between. That moment of joy may appear when you learn that the Lego x Adidas sneaker collab is about to drop. And will have you reliving your childhood joy.
The sneaker was teased in a promotional video (watch below) featuring a Lego filled world and the shoes appearing out of a lego box. (It would be cool if every pair where sent in a box made from Lego’s but unlikely at the current price point). This is one of many Colabs Lego have been involved within 2020 and it’s a pleasure to watch this childhood favourite come back into the stratosphere.
The Lego x Adidas collab is a continuation of the Adidas A-ZX project. The original ZX 8000 sneaker showcases with the iconic pop colour palette we all love from Lego. It is a little jarring against the greys and beiges of the classic style, but as a whole, they are a neat sneaker option.
The classic ‘Lego-brick’ design is featured on the sneaker’s heel cup, lace cage, and base of show tongue. With a small pop of vibrant blue on the toe. The heal showcases the classic Lego yellow and red.
The Lego x Adidas sneakers are up for release on 25th September and available at the Adidas online store. They come in at a cost of $130 USD / €130/$190 AUD so still in an affordable range for the everyday sneaker enthusiast. Excited by the thought of wearing your childhood memories in sneaker form, then be sure to set a reminder here.
